Who is Maria Montessori?

Maria Montessori is an Italian doctor/scientist turned educator in the early 1900's. Dr. Montessori devised a method of education based on observed developmental needs of children. She opened her first school in 1907 and since then her methodologies and philosophy have gained world wide recognition and acceptance.

All state mandates, such as testing and following state standards apply and add a layer 
of accountability in the classroom.

Teachers are dual certified. They are licensed by the state, but also must hold 
Montessori credentials.
